Better Living through Chemistry

I recently caught up with "Limitless" - a new release B Grade movie about wonder drugs (although I don't think Robert de Niro would probably like my definition). A friend recently wrote me a very persuasive email telling me to see my doctor about new medication to help better manage my stress levels. It seems there is always a trade off - improvements in one area, with side effects in another. Passion it seems has a price.

The mate I saw the film with is going through a similar dilemma at present - to rely on pharmaceuticals or try and manage without (knowing that at some point down the track he probably won't). So it was quite challenging to see a film where someone is high-functioning due to chemistry. Hyde-like, we become less human with each reliant imbibing.... yet we still feel the need to let certain aspects of personality held in check face the daylight.
