Low Culture

Today is my Low Culture day - artless perhaps to some, but to me there are things in the so called lower arts areas that I love.

I'm up to Chapter 10 of Joe R Lansdale's Flaming London (a comic rewrite of War of the Worlds - definitely Low Art!), I've watched some old B&W gangster films last night from the 1930s noir period - The Shadow and Slightly Honorable - once again low art, and today I've been looking at cartoon trailers and tattoos(See the previous posts). Slightly Honorable by the way is a real romp with some great dialogue and you can view it online as its in Public Domain and even uploaded onto YouTube.

So its been a days of Highs & Lows - High Church wedding service in a brilliant building and one of the great pieces of world architecture with fabulous choral pieces, and the highs and lows of the Broncos Canterbury game that my daughter is emailing pics and updates to me from Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. Oh and don't forget Green Lantern (see below). Doncha love Kulcha!

Burn brightly, Pete
