Some ideas for writing plays.... maybe somewhere in these germs of ideas rests a gem....
The Death of King Arthur
A group of five friends get together to try to workshop write a play about the death of king arthur. As the play writing session develops, there are parallels between the people writing the play and the characters of arthur etc.
The Dog & Pony Act
How much freedom are we willing to give up to feel safe? This question plays out in airports with three security guards and a small ensemble of 5 others in various changes of costume to emulate a larger cast. The notions of security and safety vs personal dignity, privacy and loss of freedom.... all with the "show" of security scanning and technologies.
The Lego Builders
Three guys are employed by a department store to build a lego display for Christmas. They are professional lego builders who have never worked together before but have all made a professional reputation for themselves as individuals constructing large lego sculptures. They have 8 hours overnight in the store to construct and build a display in a store window for opening the next day. Style and ego come into play as adversaries work together to procure a result.
That Old Time Religion
A travelling evangelist stays with a family in country Queensland every three years on a national touring circuit. Over a 9 year period the family, town and relationships change as fortunes rise and wain etc.
Let me know what you think...
Burn brightly, Pete
