One of my favourite directors in a publicity shot for one of his most famous films - Alfred Hitchcock at work on The Birds. Scripted by Ed McBain, the writer and director did not hit it off and in the years following his death McBain revealed in interviews at how petty Hitch could be. McBain was amazed to see the final ending to the movie drastically changed and expressed his disappointment with Hitchcock's decision makin process, lack of communication and handling of the script. All that being said, it still stands up as an interesting and arresting movie some 50 years on.
Burn brightly, Pete.
