All Clear

Joseph Conrad - (1857-1924)
My recent trip to the dermatologist means I've now been given the go ahead to get back to work. I'd contracted a non-specific virus (that which cannot be named easily) which mean an extra week's 'holiday' as I recuperated. Hence the abundance of blogs over the past week or two. So don't expect this output to continue. This weekend I seriously have to catch up on some writing (see The Great Writing Challenge).

Still, there is something valuable about the process of work. I spoke to a friend about work as a process of redemption and I think Joseph Conrad, author of Lord Jim, Heart of Darkness (Apocalypse Now if you're under 35) said it far better than I ever could -

"I don't like work – no man ever does – but I like what is in work – the chance to find yourself. Your own reality – for yourself, not for others – what no man can ever know."

Burn brightly, Pete
