A producer on The Man From U.N.C.L.E. has revealed that the project will probably be director Steven Soderbergh's final film. Soderbergh said in March that he was bored of film, stating that he plans to retire from the industry in the near future. The spy remake will be Soderbergh's final film.
"Steven Soderbergh said that it will be his last movie," producer Davis said. "It will hopefully start shooting sometime early next year." George Clooney is rumoured to star in the movie as the lead spy Napoleon Solo. While Davis refused to confirm the news, he did address the speculation.
