Hey Presto!

I'm often raving on about David Preston and his ability with linocuts, so it seemed very obvious to put some of his work up so you can see what I'm talking about. Preston's work can be difficult to find online, so here are a few showing his graphic ability and wonderful hand colouring.

Honeymoon Moon

Have spent the morning at the framers today (don't ask and I won't whinge) and have returned with David Preston's print I purchased a fortnight ago in Berry. Known for his delicate linocuts of nudes and flowers, Preston has also created linocuts for Brett Whiteley, John Olsen and Julie Cassab and his works are internationally recognised. Entitled "Honeymoon Moon", this linocut is a great example of Preston's skill with the process and is hand coloured with water colours. I'm  pleased with the faming and the cream matt and black edged frame works particularly well.
